About Us

The team behind the Linguistics and AI project for Georgetown University's Introduction to Language (LING 1000) course came together during the summer of 2022 united in a vision to increase students’ critical thinking around and awareness of ethical AI use in undergraduate scholarship. This team consisted of experts from an array linguistic subfields and traditions. Yang Janet Liu, working in collaboration with LING 1000 director Lara Bryfonski and Vice Dean of Undergraduate Education and LING 1000 instructor Sue Lorenson, created the initial project descriptions and milestones that have been put into practice and adapted in two semesters of LING 1000.
